Okala Foundation is a Canadian based, grassroots, registered charity founded by Tamara Davy in 2006 and is dedicated to improving the quality of life for the children in the villages of Cameroon which we operate in.

In choosing a name for the foundation, the word ‘okala’ which means ‘care’ in the local language, was a perfect fit. It is staffed by a dedicated group of board members who volunteer their time and who all have a strong passion for helping others.

The main focus of Okala’s work is the health and education of the village children, and the urgent medical needs of the villagers. Through continued sponsorship with Okala Foundation, the children receive a hot lunch every school day, all necessary school supplies needed for the year, plus a mosquito net to help reduce the spread of diseases like malaria and dengue fever.

Okala has numerous on-going projects aside from the main sponsorship program, which allow us to expand our scope of assistance to the villages and provide much needed services and education to those who would otherwise have no means of obtaining them.

We invite you to explore our website to learn more about what we do and what we’ve been able to accomplish with the help of our supporters, who are as passionate as we are about touching so many lives and making a difference in this world...one child at a time.

We welcome any questions, comments or suggestions you may have, and invite you to contact any of our board members at any time.

Thank you for your continued support!!
