DENTAL FUND:It’s a known fact that proper dental hygiene plays a crucial role in terms of overall health and well-being. That’s why we at Okala Foundation are committed to providing the children with toothbrushes and toothpaste as well as teaching the importance of proper oral hygiene as an ongoing project each year. We also provide urgent dental care on an as needed basis to attend to extreme cases where it’s gone beyond preventive maintenance and requires more extensive attention.
MEDICAL FUND:More often than not, various afflictions go unattended to due to the lack of funds to pay for care or the inability to travel to the nearest location where the care can be obtained. Unfortunately, patients must provide not only the cost of required procedures, but also pay for all medical supplies required for that procedure. Over the years that Okala Foundation has been assisting the villages under our programs, we have arranged for a number of hernia operations, removal of benign tumors, formula for orphaned infants, and re-setting of old fractures and breaks.
MEDICAL PACKS FUND:In conjunction with Health Partners International, Okala Foundation is able to supply clinics that service nearby villages with medical packs that provide essential yet the most basic of supplies to care for villagers suffering from anything from fever, to minor infections, to necessary meds to stave off the effects of malaria and HIV/Aids.

CLEAN WATER FUND:A clean source of drinking water for the villagers is an important issue for us at Okala. Many of the villages do not have a clean water well due to lack of knowledge and/or funds, and must resort to obtaining their cooking and drinking water from nearby streams or rivers. These are riddled with bacteria and parasites which cause various preventable illnesses and diseases. In striving to improve their quality of life, we can provide a clean water well that will see instances of illness decrease dramatically through just one simple action.
PLAY IT FORWARD FUND:There’s nothing more precious than the sound of laughter from a child. With the harsh realities these children must face on a daily basis, there’s an ever increasing need to provide them with smiles and laughter. Play time gives them this opportunity! These children love soccer and other school yard games, and Okala Foundation is dedicated to providing them with just that. If you have any gently used/new soccer equipment or uniforms, hula hoops, skipping ropes or wish to contribute so that we might be able to purchase some of these items, please contact one of the board members.
